GRADUATE ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission to graduate studies at Franklin is holistic: we consider several factors including academic records, professional experience, and community engagement. We welcome students from a range of disciplines. For curriculum details see Graduate Program.
Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis, and the admission decision will be communicated after all admission materials have been received and requirements have been met. Candidates requiring a visa should complete their applications by June 1st for the Fall intake, or by November 1st for the Spring intake to allow time for processing the visa request.
To be eligible for the 1,000 CHF Early Application Discount, you must submit your application by:
- Fall Semester: April 1
- Spring Semester: November 1
Admission checklist
To complete your application, you need to submit the following:
- Completed Application form and payment of a non-refundable application fee of CHF 90
- Copy of your passport
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement
Your personal statement is your opportunity to explain your reasons for undertaking graduate study. Please describe your professional goals, interests and how you believe the program will help you in your career. The statement should be about 500 words in length, written in U.S. English, and use a 12 Pt. standard font for ease of reading. Be sure to include your full name. - Official transcripts and Diploma
We require official transcripts and diploma from an accredited institution for your bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Please also submit transcripts for any coursework completed, including study abroad and post graduate work. - Evidence of English-language proficiency (if necessary)
if you attended a non-English-language undergraduate institution, we require a score of 90 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), a score of 6.5 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or a score of 120 on Duolingo. If you are not a native speaker of English and do not have evidence of English proficiency, but did complete an undergraduate degree where the primary language of instruction was English, your English ability will be evaluated during the interview. - Two Recommendations
Your two recommendations can be from a current or former supervisor, colleague, or professor. Use your best judgment on who you decide to ask - how well a person knows you should take priority over their seniority.
Enrollment deposit (following admission)
Once accepted, in order to confirm your intent to attend Franklin University Switzerland, the next step is to pay a deposit of CHF 1,500. This deposit will confirm your plan to enroll. The deposit will appear as a credit on your student account and will be deducted from your first term tuition invoice.
