Andrew Starcher is a senior university leader with many years of experience at institutions in Europe and Asia. At Franklin, Andrew served as a professor and academic affairs administrator for two decades, leaving as Vice President in 2013. Most recently, he was Acting Provost and Senior Vice President at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) in Kabul. Other previous affiliations include Glion Institute of Higher Education, the EU Business School, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Asian University for Women, Bocconi University, the University of Milan and the University of Washington. Starcher has expertise in the internationalization of higher education, faculty leadership, accreditation, quality assurance, and strategic planning. He has also published, presented and taught in the fields of teacher education and English language teaching. In 2013, his research on student development through international education was awarded the Richard & Shirley Mawditt Prize by the UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management.
