Following the resounding success of the second TEDx conference in Lugano last April 2015, FUS is looking forward to hosting the third edition of TEDxLugano on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Nielsen Auditorium.

TEDxLugano is back to Franklin for its 3rd edition on the theme of Future Wealth, a topic shaped by the needs of a special place like the Canton of Ticino, considering both its local and international component. And Franklin represents the ‘ideal’ environment to host a series of important TEDx speakers such as Diego Gilardoni, an international advisor, Dr. Karin Hehenberger, CEO of Lyfebulb, Federico Soldati, a mentalist, Joe Di Stefano, Director of Spartan Training, Ambassador Pio Wennubst, Assistant Director General and Head of the Global Cooperation Department at the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency, and Paolo Riva, entrepreneur, broadcaster and dog trainer.

What will happen tomorrow? How can we prepare ourselves for what’s coming next? Are we getting richer or poorer from a financial, cultural and social point of view?

Last April 2015, Franklin hosted the 2nd edition of TEDxLugano, themed ‘(Hy-)performance’ and featuring talks on the concept of pushing one’s performance in a particular activity or task significantly beyond what are perceived as 'normal' limits. The entrepreneur Daniel Jordi, for example, shared how one lottery ticket gave him the push to overcome his fears and turn his dreams into reality while the Shaolin Temple secular monk Shi Xing Mi explained the Shaolin principles on performance to help the audience boost theirs, stressing the method and serenity of their path and not the ultimate destination. All the Talks are available on the TEDx YouTube page.

If you’d like to take part in this unique event, be sure to check out the TEDxLugano website, where you will also find more information on how to apply for tickets. You can also follow TEDxLugano on Facebook and Instagram.

As with past editions, access to the conference will be for ticket holders only.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. Started as a four-day conference in California almost 30 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes on a diverse mix of topics. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience, where x = independently organized TED event.
