As part of the 50th Anniversary Film Series, we are extremely pleased to invite you to the exclusive European premiere of the documentary “The Woman Who Loves Giraffes” on Wednesday, October 16, 6 p.m., in our Nielsen Auditorium.

7:30 p.m. Panel Discussion moderated by Kevin McNeely, Franklin Trustee and Director of the Sonoma International Film Festival, featuring Dr. Anne Innis Dagg, protagonist, Alison Reid, award-winning director,  and Franklin Faculty Katherine Roy and Patrick Della Croce
8:15 p.m. Reception in the Kaletsch Campus Conference Room 

In this award-winning documentary film, Dr. Dagg re-traces the steps of her groundbreaking 1956 journey to South Africa to study giraffes in the wild – and discovers a startling contrast between the world of giraffes she once knew and the one it has become. Weaving through the past and present, her harrowing journey gives us an intimate look into the factors that destroyed her career and the forces that brought her back.
