"Doughnut Economics: A deep dive into new economics and long term thinking"
Masterclass with Kate Raworth, October 29, 2019

"Humanity's 21st-century challenge is to meet the needs of all within the means of the planet." Kate Raworth's explanation of the Doughnut of Social and Planetary Boundaries distills the challenge of climate and social well-being into a series of factors that must be brought into balance for future generations to continue to survive and prosper on this planet. Her research and doughnut model have found interest in organizations such as the UN General Assembly, the Global Green Growth Forum, and Occupy London. In this masterclass, Raworth conducted an open presentation of the model and its application in a project developed in Amsterdam, as the city works toward a series of sustainable economic objectives that seek to bring about 100% sustainability by 2050. Following the presentation, an Open Space workshop was conducted among participants to foster the methodology of collective intelligence and creative interaction. The afternoon session, for registered participants only, was centered around a scenario of role-playing, in which the present and the future transcend the linearity of time and are permitted to dialogue with one another. Roman Krznaric joined Kate Raworth to conduct the session and reflect on the outcomes with the group. Read more about Kate Raworth Masterclass at FUS

"Leadership and the Golden Rule"
Masterclass with Paul Polman, August 30, 2019

Leadership and the Golden Rule

What would happen if we applied the Golden Rule in leadership practices? We know well what happens when we don’t do this, and the results are disengaged workplaces, growing inequalities, and an agonizing planet. Yet in moments of darkness, there are “imaginal cells” that can create incredible and magic new narratives, just like caterpillars can turn into butterflies. During this Masterclass, we learned directly from one of the most prominent imaginal cells, Paul Polman, Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce, The B Team and Vice Chairman of the UN Global Compact. Kim Polman, Paul's wife, co-author of Imaginal Cells and co-founder of Reboot the Future will address the concept of imaginal cells. Various other inspiring stakeholders that are embodying the Golden Rule and are acting for the good of the people and the planet in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, spoke on topics including organizational leadership, perspectives of future generations and connecting the "I" to the "We."
