Swap Shop Open Now!

The Green Office is very excited to launch the Franklin Green Office Swap Shop, a space where community members can exchange items, share resources, and contribute to sustainable living on campus. The Swap Shop is a student-led initiative that seeks to promote a circular economy and a culture of reuse and sustainability within our university community. Community members can swap gently used items such as decorations, electronics, kitchen appliances, and more. By participating in the Swap Shop, you can reduce consumption, divert waste disposal, and help create a more connected and supportive campus environment. Most students come to Franklin from farther locations, meaning they have to buy a lot and get rid of a lot as they come and go from campus. This contributes to the accumulation of a lot of waste. In addition, having a space where students can get items they need at no cost will be very beneficial to all students, but especially those on our campus who may struggle to afford certain items. Students are encouraged to bring items they no longer want or can not bring when they leave campus to this space, as well as to stop in and pick up some items!

Below are the guidelines for using the Swap Shop:

When Can I Visit?

At the beginning and end of each semester, set hours will be provided and be posted on the FUS GO Instagram page.  Please make sure to subscribe to keep up with our news.

During the semester, the shop will be open by request! Students can look at the online inventory to see what is available and request a time to bring or take items.

How Does It Work?

Prepare Items to Swap: Clean out your dorms and gather items you no longer need but are in good condition.

Drop Off Your Items: Visit the Swap Shop during operating hours to drop off your items.

Browse and Exchange: Visit the Swap Shop to browse and exchange items. It's a simple and fun way to find new-to-you treasures.
