A Unique Campus Experience in the Heart of Switzerland
Located in Sorengo, in the Lugano district, Franklin’s campus offers a distinctive setting where natural beauty, modern facilities, and a vibrant international community come together. Situated on the hills between Lake Lugano and Lago di Muzzano, the campus enjoys breathtaking views, a peaceful green environment, and excellent connections to the surrounding region.
The area is easily accessible by public transportation, with Sorengo and Sorengo Laghetto railway stations located on the Lugano–Ponte Tresa line. Regular SBB trains connect the campus to Lugano and the wider region, running every 15 minutes during weekday daytime and every 30 minutes at other times. Local bus services operated by Trasporti Pubblici Luganesi and PostBus also provide convenient access to the campus.
North Campus
Overlooking the beautiful landscape of Lake Lugano, the North Campus offers a peaceful and inspiring environment surrounded by greenery. The campus features a charming early twentieth-century villa, providing an elegant and welcoming setting for small receptions, meetings, and special events.
Equipped with modern facilities, computer labs, and a conference room with teleconferencing capabilities, the North Campus combines historic charm with contemporary functionality, making it an ideal space for academic activities, gatherings, and collaborative experiences.
Kaletsch Campus
The Kaletsch Campus, Franklin’s main campus, is the heart of university life. Designed to support academic excellence, collaboration, and community engagement, it provides a range of spaces for conferences, lectures, events, and student activities.
The campus includes a fully equipped conference room, an auditorium with advanced sound and lighting systems, and air-conditioned classrooms designed for interactive learning. Its spacious President’s Lawn offers a beautiful outdoor setting for evening academic events, celebrations, and post-event receptions, surrounded by Franklin’s welcoming atmosphere.
McNeely Center of Ideas & Imagination
The McNeely Center of Ideas & Imagination represents Franklin’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and community. This modern residential and social hub offers a variety of apartment options, including single, double, and four-person units, all designed with shared living spaces that encourage connection among students.
The ground floor features a vibrant student center, flexible event spaces, and offices dedicated to student services. The adjacent tower houses the Tone Fitness Center and a 100-seat auditorium equipped with advanced sound and projection technology, providing an ideal environment for presentations, performances, and community events.
Students and visitors can also enjoy the Angela Fowler Atrium and the “Giardino di Luce,” a wellness garden created as a space for reflection, relaxation, study, and meaningful connections.
Student Residences
A Home Away From Home
Franklin’s residences are designed to provide students with a comfortable, supportive, and inclusive living experience. With eight residence halls located across campus, students enjoy the independence of university life while benefiting from a strong sense of community.
Each residence hall is supported by a trained Resident Assistant who helps create a welcoming environment and supports students throughout their university journey. Every residence has its own character, allowing students to find a living space that reflects their preferences and lifestyle.

Limited parking is available on our Kaletsch Campus (link to Google Maps; GPS coordinates: 45°59'49.3"N 8°56'19.0"E / 45.997028, 8.938611). As an alternative, the S. Anna Clinic Autosilo (link to Google Maps; GPS coordinates: 46°00'00.7"N 8°56'22.9"E / 46.000194, 8.939694) offers metered parking and is only a short walk from our campuses.
