On Friday, May 9, Franklin University Switzerland had the honor of hosting RSI – Radiotelevisione Svizzera Italiana for a live broadcast of Siamo Fuori, a talk-format show exploring culture, community, and the voices of young people. The episode aired from the McNeely Center for Ideas & Imagination, transformed for the occasion into a live television set.
Representing Franklin were President Samuel Martín-Barbero and students Sofia Chiusano ’25 and Jesse Fioranelli ’26 , who shared their personal stories and what it means to be part of a global, multicultural academic environment. Their voices offered a glimpse into the transformative power of education at Franklin — and how learning here goes far beyond the classroom.
Throughout the episode, the Sorengo community also took part in the conversation, reinforcing the university’s close connection with its local surroundings. Attendees were invited to join the live audience and experience, in real time, the making of a professional TV broadcast — complete with cameras, countdowns, and conversations that mattered.
The event’s setting — the McNeely Center for Ideas & Imagination — proved to be more than symbolic. Designed as a space for dialogue, creativity, and exchange, it provided the ideal backdrop for a moment that bridged generations, perspectives, and institutions.
This collaboration with RSI not only gave visibility to Franklin’s academic mission but also underscored the university’s dedication to experiential learning, media literacy, and community engagement. It brought our values to life, live and on air.
From spontaneous student reflections to thoughtful commentary from leadership, the broadcast was more than just content — it was connection.
And for those watching from behind the scenes, it was a powerful reminder:
at Franklin, every voice has a place on the stage.
