Welcome back to campus! The Green Office is excited to start the school year by introducing FreeEats!
FreeEats is an app that shares real-time info on free, leftover food from campus events at Franklin that would otherwise go to waste.
Developed by student at Washington University in Saint Louis to reduce event waste and feed hungry students quickly and efficiently, FreeEats is a free app especially designed for college campuses. Only people with a fus.edu will have visibility to the food from events specific to Franklin.
This is how the process works:
- Log-in with your fus.edu email address to see free food posts from others at your Franklin.
- Using the Free Food Form, quickly post free food that is leftover from events, club activities, students moving out or any other social situations.
- Turn on notifications to receive an alert when someone has posted free food on campus.
- Check-in to recent free food posts to indicate that you are on the way to grab a serving.
- Receive free food and help reduce food waste!
FreeEats works best with more people, so be sure to spread the word and tell others at FUS to join in on the free food sharing.
