There's a lot to do at Franklin and in Lugano. Skiing, hiking, dancing, meeting people from everywhere. But here's the real thing: the best parts happen in between, when students from opposite corners of the world realize they're not so different after all.
Our traditions reflect that. Visit Valle Verzasca during Orientation like hundreds of students before you. Cook a dish for United in Diversity's annual International Food Night. Join trips and excursions throughout Switzerland organized by the Office of Student Life. These aren't just activities, they're how an American school in a European setting builds belonging...and they're designed to help you figure things out while everyone around you is figuring it out too.

On the first Wednesday of each semester, the Office of Student Life hosts a student organization and resources fair. It's your chance to learn about the different ways to get involved on campus and in the surrounding community. We have a vibrant ecosystem of student organizations, and they truly shape the Franklin experience. Get involved with activities related to your major, or just explore and try something new. We firmly believe that involvement brings a sense of belonging, leadership and communication skills, and even professional experiences that will help you after Franklin.
Tutte Le Strade is our name for the activities we coordinate at the start of every academic year, designed to build on what you learned during Orientation. Learn how to use the trains and how to weigh your produce at the grocery store. Visit the famous Bellinzona Castles and hike up Monte San Salvatore with new students. Explore Milan with some of our students and, closer to home, discover what makes Lugano special. The schedule includes things coordinated by the Office of Student Life, events organized by student organizations and other students, and local events we want to highlight. During Orientation and the first week of classes, we'll share a snapshot of what's coming. There's far more happening beyond that, but these are the experiences we hope you'll be part of.
Interested in student government? Visit our Student Government Association (SGA) page to learn more about getting involved with student government and some of the opportunities SGA offers. No matter what your interests, Franklin can help you find your niche. The Office of Student Life coordinates the overall student organization program and supports clubs and groups on campus.
Members of the Franklin community come from every corner of the globe and identify with virtually every cultural, spiritual, racial, and international background. That diversity is something you will experience on a daily basis.
