The Office of Student Life is excited to host its 4th Annual Open Chess Tournament, in collaboration with the local chess federation and various local clubs. The event is open to players of all ability levels, and everyone (both from within and outside the Franklin community) is invited to attend. Franklin students, faculty, and staff members can participate free of charge and will also enjoy a complimentary breakfast! All players must register by Saturday, February 7 by emailing adelucia@fus.edu. Participants who are not Franklin students, faculty, or staff will pay a registration fee of CHF 25 at the door.
Tournament Details:
All participants will compete over 5 rounds/games of max 30 minutes each (15 minutes for each player). The pairings will be adjusted according to the results of completed matches in order to ensure participants play opponents of an equal level as the tournament progresses.
Coffee and croissants will be available for all students, faculty, and staff members who participate!

In the afternoon (from 14:00 to 18:00), we will host another chess tournament open to more experienced players (rated above 1500 ELO).
