The Recreational Sports office located in the Office of Student Life at Franklin University Switzerland aims to provide experiences that enrich the lives of the FUS community at large, advance student success, develop leaders and encourage lifelong wellness. The office is committed to promoting physical fitness within the University and organizes activities and sports for students, faculty, and staff.

Regular intramural sports such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, and dodgeball are among the various recreational activities offered throughout the academic year. A variety of wellness courses taught by qualified professional instructors are also available, including total conditioning workout, cardio dance, Pilates, and yoga. These activities are mainly offered in the on-campus sports facility, the Tone Athletic Center, which includes an outdoor soccer field, a strength and conditioning room, and an indoor sport court. The Franklin Recreational Sports office also coordinates various outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing, stand up paddling, skiing, snowboarding and sledging.

Gym Hours for Summer 2020

The Tone Athletic Center will be open during the following hours from June 8 to July 23:

Monday to Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Reserve Your Workout Session Online

In order to guarantee the safety of all visitors, the access to the Tone Athletic Center (TAC) will limit the number of users at one time:

  • 2 individuals in the weight room
  • 2 individuals in the treadmill space
  • 10 individuals in the gym court area

Each day we are open, the TAC schedule will be divided into three access/training shifts with a 15 minute gap to give our staff time to clean and sanitize before the next set of people enter. Users MUST reserve their workout session in advance of their requested workout time by using the online reservation form on Moodle (enrollment key #WORKOUT):

In order to ensure the health and safety of the TAC users and the Franklin community, individuals will not be allowed to trade workout times with other users. Individuals will only be allowed to use the TAC facilities after they have reserved a workout time using the Moodle reservation process.

In addition to the standard TAC Rules, visitors to the TAC must also comply with additional safety guidelines until further notice.
