Dean Deborah Knaust attended the Career Integrated Global Learning (CIGL) Conference that was combined with the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Conference in Milan in October. The goal of the inaugural CIGL conference was to bridge applied learning and international education around themes that help prepare students and colleagues for the changing world of work. Global internships are the fastest growing segment of education abroad.

The goal of The Forum’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Conference was to create a space for shared dialogue to explore the pressing issues shaping the future of international education in these regions.  In addition, Dean Deborah attended a ½ day pre-conference workshop on student health, safety, and well-being. This interactive workshop was based on the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad to provide guidance in maintaining a proactive risk management strategy.

Through networking and session attendance, Dean Deborah met new contacts and gained key information to support Franklin students and programs. In addition, she collected information from other institutions located in Europe and around the world to aid in benchmarking services and support resources.
