We are very happy to announce that Leslie Tedoldi will return to Franklin in January to start a new position as Business Officer within Finance and Administration.

Leslie will be a deputy in training, with a progressively increasing portfolio of responsibilities in accounting, financial management, administrative services, cooperating with the department colleagues in the daily workflow and representing the Vice President in a variety of meetings.

This hire fills a significant gap in the department, which has been short one full-time person since Enrica Gelmetti’s retirement in November 2021. It is only through the extraordinary efforts of the Finance and Administration Staff (I cannot thank them enough!), with Marta’s generous and invaluable help on a limited part-time basis, that the department successfully managed all the pressing demands of an extremely challenging year.

For those who don’t know Leslie, to say that she has Franklin in her DNA would be quite the understatement: a legacy student, a 2018 Franklin graduate (summa cum laude) and the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award, Leslie previously worked at Franklin as Assistant to Academic Affairs and to the Office of the President and then as Project Manager, Academic Affairs and Advancement until January 2022. Even after her departure, Leslie always kept in contact with the campus and continued to volunteer her personal time for Franklin.

In February 2022, Leslie took on the role of Assistant Director at Virginia Tech’s Steger Center for International Scholarship, where she was responsible for institutional budgeting, organized and maintained financial records, worked on audit preparation and VAT calculation, managed accounts payable and invoicing for summer groups, and provided oversight for on-site technology.

Throughout her short, yet brilliant, well-rounded career, Leslie has gained exposure to and confidence in many facets of management, accounting, IT, reporting, data analysis, and internal communication.
