The Next in Management team is excited to invite you to an upcoming Meet the Manager event featuring the founder of Scuderia Classiche, Paolo Pedersoli, who will share his journey from top-tier motorsport to entrepreneurship in the world of classic cars.
Born and raised in an Italian immigrant family near Zürich, he developed an early passion for building, problem-solving, and continuously improving his work. This curiosity led him to complete a four-year automotive technician apprenticeship and, shortly after graduating, secure a position in Formula 1 with the Swiss-based Sauber F1 Team, becoming the youngest member of the team at just 20 years old. Following in-house training, he began traveling internationally as a Gearbox Specialist.
Eager to broaden his expertise, he went on to work as a Lead Technician in the American IndyCar Series and later in sports car racing. His technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and multilingual skills eventually led him to a Sporting Director role with an Italian Formula 3 team. He later returned to Formula 1 as a Crew Chief, leading a team of 20 and overseeing race car preparation and track operations.
After several years at the highest levels of motorsport, he transitioned into grassroots racing, taking on the role of Technical Director for an Italian firm, where he oversaw the design and small-series production of two race cars. His career then expanded into management and commercial leadership when he became Team Manager for Ferrari in the UK and later moved into technical sales, developing the North American market for motorsport-focused engine management systems.
The event will take place on February 16th at 16:30 in the P. Gregory Warden Student Lounge / McNeely Center of Ideas & Imagination.
This unique blend of technical, managerial, and commercial experience, combined with a lifelong entrepreneurial drive, ultimately led him to found Scuderia Classiche. What began as a one-person operation has grown into a small, agile, and internationally active organization offering premium, end-to-end services in the classic car industry.
During this session, he will discuss his unconventional career path, lessons from elite motorsport, and how technical expertise can evolve into successful entrepreneurship.
We look forward to seeing you there!
