Raising an all-time high of $1.2 million, Franklin University Switzerland kicked off its 50th Anniversary Celebration in New York City this past Saturday, November 9, at the Union League Club. This is the largest amount raised at an event in the fifty-year history of the university.

In his speech, President Warden honored our founders, Theo Brenner, Wilfried Geens, Pascal Tone, and Jacques Villaret. "Fifty years ago our four founders did something that was courageous and innovative. They founded an institution that has grown into a university now accredited on two continents. For fifty years, the Franklin experience has given our students a world that is smaller in terms of access, larger in terms of possibility, and richer in terms of cultural awareness and understanding. Franklin University Switzerland has been built on a solid foundation. As we look forward to the next fifty years, that spirit of innovation, courage, and forward-thinking will serve as a model for us all."

The funds raised will support Franklin students. Scholarship assistance enables success, providing support for deserving students who want to graduate and give back to society. The support that students receive from the generosity of alumni instills a greater sense of belonging – and motivation – to make it through their college years.

"I am deeply touched by the hard work and support from all individuals who helped organize and prepare for this milestone event,” said Kim Hildebrant, Chairman of Franklin’s Board of Trustees.  “The success of this year’s event lies in the hands of those individuals and those who generously supported our additional fundraising efforts this evening."

"We are humbled by our alumni’s continued response to the needs of our students,” said President Warden. “The Gala Committee set a high bar and greatly surpassed it!”

Franklin University Switzerland would like to extend a special thank you to all of our gala sponsors, patrons and hosts. We also want to recognize the entire Gala Committee for their hard work. We invite you to join us May 22-24, 2020 as we continue the celebrations in Lugano at the Global Alumni Reunion.
