It’s that time of the year when Franklin Students have the opportunity to select their on-campus housing for the next academic year.

The Housing Selection Process is scheduled to take place during the week of April 3 to 7, 2023 via a Virtual Meeting organized by the Office of Student Life.

Students must first pay the 1000 CHF or $1000 USD Housing Deposit directly to the Bursar before the March 15, 2023 deadline in order to be eligible to select housing.  This deposit will be credited toward their housing charges for the Fall Semester of 2023.

Once the Housing Deposit has been paid, students will have the opportunity to select their housing during the Housing Selection Process in April. Each student will be informed individually by e-mail of their assigned date and time by the end of March.

The Students are sorted into academic categories, using the information provided by the Registrar in mid-March about the number of credits they have completed. We also consider whether a student is on the Dean’s List and if a student has any disciplinary sanctions such as not attending more than two Residence Hall Meetings during the academic year 2022-2023.

The student categories are organized for the Housing Selection Process starting with the Graduate Students, then Rising Seniors who have completed more than 89 credits, following the Rising Juniors who have completed more than 59 credits, then, the Rising Sophomores and the First-Year students.

The OSL Department strives to accommodate the students the best they can, following the Housing Selection Process, which has been successfully used in the past. While we are not always able to provide our students with their first or second housing choice, we make tremendous efforts to continually improve our process and show fairness and impartiality.
