The Franklin Campus Garden Project was one of several sustainable initiatives introduced by Franklin's Center for Sustainability Initiatives in 2010. A collaboration of students and faculty developed a formal proposal for a multiphase organic garden project that aims to expand on a yearly basis.

The ultimate goals of this project are:

  1. to reduce Franklin's ecological footprint through providing a local and organic food source for campus dining services;

  2. to provide a tangible, telluric classroom for environmental science and food-related courses;

  3. to increase community awareness of the importance of sustainable agricultural networks and their relationship to the environment.
